TYPES OF SESSIONS

Private Sessions • 50 minutes

During private sessions, one instructor works with one client. The instructor evaluates the client's fitness level and specific issues and designs a plan to help them meet their goals. Private sessions provide more personalized attention and may be more appropriate if you have current or past injuries. Some clients use private sessions to prepare for duet sessions or classes if appropriate. Sessions include use of the Pilates apparatus (the trapeze table, reformer, chair and ladder barrel), small equipment (gym balls, free weights, foam rollers and magic circles), mat work and stretching. Sessions are available by appointment seven days a week and from 6 am through 8 pm on most days. Click here for pricing.

Duet Sessions • 50 minutes

Duet sessions are much like private sessions but include two clients working with one instructor. If you know someone you would like to work out with that is at about the same fitness level as you, you can schedule a duet session together. If you do not have anyone in mind, we recommend you take a private lesson where we will evaluate your fitness level and try to match you with an appropriate duet partner. Click here for pricing.

Private Sessions with Melissa Wirsig • 50 to 90 minutes

A certified practitioner in multiple disciplines, Melissa utilizes Pilates, the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® , Yamuna Body Rolling®, the Feldenkrais Method® of movement reeducation and self-applied trigger point therapy to help meet her clients' individual needs. She specializes in post-rehabilitation work for back, neck, hip, knee or shoulder pain. Melissa helps people identify and change unhealthy habits, movement patterns and postural deviations, and teaches her clients self-healing and strengthening techniques they can use on their own. She also enjoys working with those who have not exercised for a while and those who are more comfortable in a private, one-on-one setting. Click here for pricing.

Independent Workout Classes • 50 minutes

Classes have 3 to 6 clients who have completed a minimum of 10 privates and received instructor approval to progress. In these classes, students will perform exercises previously learned using a customized workout card and wall charts to help them remember the order and set up of exercises. The instructor answers questions, gives corrections and teaches new exercises to individuals in the class. Each person works at their own level and pace. If you have previous experience with Pilates sessions on the apparatus, we ask you to take at least one private before starting Independent Workout Classes to acquaint you with our equipment and provide you with a customized workout card.
